Biography

Sarah graduated with a first class degree and performance diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music and Manchester University where she studied the flute as Henry Fielding Scholar. She studied with Richard Davies (BBC Philharmonic), Linda Verrier and Jo Boddington (Hallé) with masterclasses from Michael Cox, Daniel Pailthorpe and Keith Bragg.

Sarah is a committed and passionate chamber musician, and a member of The Sterling Trio (flute, clarinet and piano), the Da Capo Duo (flute and classical guitar), Argentum Flutes (flute duo) and the Dove Duo (flute and piano). With these groups, Sarah performs concerts for music clubs, societies and festivals, at art galleries and rural venues and in schools, hospitals and hospices across Britain.

Freelance ensemble performing work includes work with the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Skipton Camerata, music theatre companies including Action Transport Theatre Company, the New Vic Youth Theatre, the Arden Theatre School, Oldham Theatre Workshop and Una Voce Opera, as well as work with larger organisations including Queer Up North and the BBC Summer Proms.
